NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® Certification for REALTOR® Emeritus Status
North Central Jersey Association of REALTORS®, New Jersey A REALTOR® member who has held membership in the National Association as a REALTOR® for a cumulative period of forty (40) years and has completed at least one (1) year of service at the National Association level as an officer, director, committee member, federal political coordinator, President’s liaison or a regional coordinator to a country with which NAR has a reciprocal agreement, shall upon certification by the Board of Directors be designated "REALTOR® EMERITUS." An individual who has been affiliated with a firm comprised of REALTOR® members for forty (40) years or more, but who was ineligible for REALTOR® or REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® membership for any portion of that time on the basis of sex, national origin, marital status or other basis now prohibited by the Bylaws of the National Association shall be eligible for REALTOR® Emeritus status.

It is understood the REALTOR® Emeritus status of a Board Member, when approved by the Board of Directors of the National ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® , renders unnecessary further payment of dues by the Member Board of which the REALTOR® Emeritus is a member, to the National Association, as computed on the basis of the individual REALTOR® Emeritus. However, the Board remains liable to pay the Member Board dues computed on the basis of any real estate salespersons employed by or affiliated as independent contractors with the REALTOR® Emeritus, and who are not themselves REALTORS® or REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® s . Waiver of dues by the local Board or waiver by the State Association of any dues by the Member Board of which the REALTOR® Emeritus is a member, as computed on the basis of the membership of the REALTOR® Emeritus, is at the discretion of those entities. The dues waiver does not take effect until the following year's dues billing.
