CHICAGO (February 3, 2026) – The National Association of REALTORS® announced the opening of applications for its 2026 Good Neighbor Awards today. The program honors real estate agents who demonstrate exceptional dedication to volunteer service and have lasting impacts on their communities.
“Service is at the heart of what it means to be a REALTOR®,” said NAR President Kevin Brown. “The Good Neighbor Awards recognize members who strengthen neighborhoods, support families and help communities thrive through volunteer service. We are excited to see the nominations and celebrate the impact REALTORS® are making every day.”

New Consumer Guide: Prepare Your Home for Hurricane Season
Severe weather can affect homeowners almost anywhere, and hurricane season is an important reminder that preparation can make a meaningful difference before a storm arrives.
According to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), hurricanes put Americans at risk and cause billions of dollars in property damage each year. Depending on the region, hurricane season can run from May 1 through November 30, with the Atlantic basin typically reaching its peak around mid-September.
For NCJAR® members, hurricane preparedness is also useful information to share with clients. Whether you're working with buyers, sellers, or longtime homeowners, encouraging people to think ahead can help them better protect their property, important documents, and families.

Before You Click, Slow Down
Fraudulent emails can appear to come from a broker, colleague, client, friend, or other trusted contact. Before responding to an unusual request, carefully check the sender’s actual email address. If someone asks you to purchase something or the message seems out of character, confirm the request by phone rather than replying to the email.
