U.S. existing home sales fell 5.4% month-over-month and 5.4% year-over-year to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 3.89 million units, with monthly sales down in all four regions, according to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). Higher mortgage rates, along with rising sales prices, have kept many prospective buyers on the sidelines, despite more home choices and less competition for those homes.

• Single Family Closed Sales were up 8.6 percent to 1,917.
• Townhouse-Condo Closed Sales were up 1.0 percent to 422.
• Adult Communities Closed Sales were up 3.9 percent to 53.

The NJ Realtors® Good Neighbor Award recognizes three exceptional REALTORS® or REALTOR-Associates® who have demonstrated extraordinary commitments to enhancing the quality of life in their local and global communities through volunteer service.

Eligible nominees must be NJ REALTORS® members in good standing, with community work conducted between September 1, 2023, and August 31, 2024. Individual contributions are highlighted, with necessary documentation of impact.

Winners, selected by an independent panel, will direct donations to a 501(c)(3) organization of their choice, with prizes of $2,500, $1,500, and $1,000 for first, second, and third place respectively.

The nomination deadline is September 6, 2024.
