The New Jersey Legislature has approved changes to real estate continuing education (CE) requirements that are expected to take effect for the 2027–2029 license renewal cycle.
Good news: There are no changes to the current 2025–2027 renewal cycle.
What Will Change?
Beginning with the 2027 renewal cycle, licensees should expect:
- 18 hours of continuing education (up from the current requirement).
- A 75% passing score on exams for self-paced online CE courses.
- A portion of your CE must be completed through live instruction (classroom or live webinar).
- The New Jersey Real Estate Commission (NJREC) may require additional education on emerging topics in the future.
What You Need to Do
For now—nothing.
Continue completing your CE under the current NJREC requirements for your upcoming license renewal.
