Congratulations to William “Bill” Flagg of ERA Queen City Realty, Scotch Plains, for being selected to receive the prestigious NCJAR REALTOR® of the Year Award for 2023.
A well-respected REALTOR®, Broker and mentor within the community, Bill has been licensed since 1982. He is a longtime recipient of the New Jersey REALTORS® Circle of Excellence Award and is also a NCJAR CE instructor. Bill has been a Trustee since 2006 of the former Greater Union County Association of REALTORS® then, post-merger with the North Central Jersey Association of REALTORS® to the present day. Bill held the positions of both Treasurer and President
Elect in both associations. Bill served as NCJAR’s 2022 President. (Additionally, President of the former Greater Union County Association of REALTORS® 2009 and 2010).
Bill serves on the NAR® Fair Housing Policy Committee and previously served on the RPAC Major Investor Council and the Diversity Committee. He was also nominated for the NAR® Fair Housing Champion award in 2022. Bill is in the NAR® RPAC Hall of Fame since 2019, which recognizes dedicated members who have made a significant commitment to RPAC over the years by investing an aggregate lifetime investment amount of at least $25,000.
As our former NCJAR President, his number one initiative is Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Bill is recognized as one of the co-founders of our regional DE&I Real Estate Summit, which has had its second successful event this year, in Sleepy Hollow, NY. This is a collaboration with regional local and state associations and brought together more than 200 attendees.
Bill was instrumental in orchestrating two first time NCJAR events. In partnership with the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Newark, NCJAR hosted its second Homebuyer’s Fair & Expo in June. The Fair was attended by over 250 Newark residents and surrounding areas. We had 20+ industry professionals who assisted renters with credit repair, legal assistance, mortgage information and workshops in order to give them the tools and resources towards a path towards home ownership.
Bill is passionate about his charities for which, NCJAR donated monies for both Morris/ Union Habitat for Humanity and The Elizabeth Coalition whose mission is to house the homeless during his tenure as President of NCJAR.
Bill also brought us another first; Membership Appreciation Day, which is now an annual event. It hosts nationally acclaimed speakers along with food trucks for our member’s enjoyment.
In 2022 and 2023, Bill was awarded Five Star Professional Real Estate Agent. He was also designated and approved as a listee on Marquis Who’s Who in America in 2022.
Bill truly exemplifies what the REALTOR® “Spirit” is all about, and we are proud that he is a member of our NCJAR REALTOR® family.
