CE DEADLINE: APRIL 30, 2025
As we approach the halfway point of the current NJREC licensing cycle, NCJAR wants to remind all licensees about the requirement to complete 12 Credits of Continuing Education (CE) by April 30, 2025. Meeting this deadline is critical to maintaining your active license and avoiding penalties.
Understanding the NJREC Licensing Cycle:
The current licensing cycle began on July 1, 2023, and will end on June 30, 2025. During this period, all licensees are required to complete 12 CE hours in specific categories. It is important to note that if you received your salesperson’s license on or after July 1, 2024, you are exempt from completing CE until the next licensing cycle begins.
Breaking Down the 12 CE Hours Requirement:
Here’s a breakdown of the 12 hours you must complete:
-
1 Hour - Fair Housing & NJ Law Against Discrimination
-
1 Hour - Agency
-
2 Hours - Ethics
-
2 Hours - Core
-
6 Hours - Electives: These can be a mix of Electives, Ethics, Core, or Fair Housing courses.
It’s essential to ensure that you meet the requirements in each category to remain compliant with the NJREC regulations.
Important Notes to Keep in Mind:
-
Ethics courses are an acceptable substitute for Core and Elective courses, but Core and Elective courses cannot be used to substitute for Ethics.
-
Ethics, Fair Housing, and Core courses are acceptable to use in place of Elective courses.
-
Salesperson Referral agents changing licensing types must complete all of their CE hours in Core or Ethicstopics only.
How to Track Your CE Hours:
To ensure that you are on track to meet the April 30, 2025 deadline, be sure to check your CE records in the PSI Online CE Tracking System. This system allows you to review your completed courses and ensure that you have met the necessary requirements for the current licensing cycle.
What Happens if You Miss the Deadline?
Failing to complete your required CE hours by the deadline could result in penalties, including delays in your license renewal. Don’t wait until the last minute—plan ahead and complete your CE hours early to avoid any potential issues.
Final Reminder:
Remember, the deadline for completing all CE hours is April 30, 2025. Make sure you are up-to-date with your CE courses so you can continue providing top-notch service to your clients without interruption.
