PublicOpenHousesBy: Mary Cano, NCJAR CEO | July 24, 2020

While Governor Murphy has approved the conducting of public open houses, it does not mean that the CDC guidelines are no longer applicable.  Masks and social distancing are still required.  Conduct your open houses accordingly.  There should be no mass gatherings without proper distancing and face masks.  Showings should be controlled.  With the volume of buyers recently, open houses can become problematic.   A suggested procedure is to make appointments.  Suggested advertising can be “Open House on (date & between the hours of).  Call to schedule a private showing.”  Not only will you provide better safety for all concerned, you will also have the names and phone numbers of prospective purchasers ahead of showings, and can send the hold harmless form ahead of time.
